EP 2: Understanding Event Revenue – More Than Just Food Sales

By: Charles Tan/President of FBMA Thailand

Event revenue is not limited to food and beverage sales. A proper P&L must capture all income sources, such as:

  • Food packages (per person or per table)
  • Beverage packages or consumption
  • Venue or function room rental
  • Audio-visual equipment rental
  • Decoration or theme charges
  • Corkage fees
  • Service charges (if applicable)

All revenues should be confirmed in writing before the event and matched exactly with the final invoice.

Key Message:
If revenue is not clearly identified, profit can never be accurately measured.
